This positive, creative program is DESIGNED for the learning style of the visual-spatial person. While schools, tutoring and other programs address only the symptoms of the learning disabilities, trying to get the person to read by decoding words or using tedious drills and repetition. Clients will learn to focus and maintain attention without getting distracted continuously. This in itself ususually has an enormous impact, on the performance of the person undertaking the Davis Dyslexia program. The client will discover how they LEARN, and techniques to help them in every area. Issues such as stress or controlling anxiety are also addressed. Reading should improve greatly by the end of the program. Comprehension is improved dramatically, by tapping in to the use of their picture thinking ability. Clients leave with a new found confidence, in their abilities and a specific path on how to continue to improve. What method is used? Simple visual methods are used for focusing. The Davis Dyselxia program uses modelling clay to help the typically hands-on client to overcome difficulties in reading and punctuation, to enable them to avoid the confusions that generally cause the difficulties for visual people when reading? Clients enjoy this method and it works well with their 'meaning driven' minds. Most dyslexics seek meaning in everything they read. Even if the actually master decoding using phonics type methods, they normally lose the ability to comprehend or even to enjoy reading. This is one of the reasons many dyslexics avoid reading. We bring the enjoyment back into reading. They usually progress quickly and their reading ability grows along with their confidence. How do we get started? The first step is a consultation. The consultation will determine if the Davis Dyselxia Program is a suitable solution for the clients learning disabilities and goals. The clients motivation is also assessed at this time. Since success in anything is determined by motivation. Of course, even a small amount of motivation can be encouraged, once sucess is felt. During the initial consult, all symptoms are discussed and analysed for suitability for the effectiveness of Davis Dyselxia Program. Call Focus on Learning, 0414 013 490 to set up an initial consultation, allow around 2-3 hours for the consult. Learning disabilities need to be treated, so they do not become a debilitating part of someone's life. After the Program The client will leave the program with the all of the tools, understanding, and materials necessary to implement the program into their every day lives and achieve positive results. Davis Symbol Mastery of 217 trigger words(those words that do not have a visual image or meaning) is an essential part of the correction of Dyslexia. Support Training is provided on the last day for family members or tutor who will support the client in this follow-up. Otherwise at an extra cost, the follow-up work can be completed at Focus on Learning. "After doing this program it has been much easier to read and write, and I can get focused easier" Implementing the tools into every day life, as well as doing Davis Symbol mastery follow-up on trigger words, is necessary to ensure continued success with the program.
